Blue Sky T'ai Chi Ch'uan

Carolyn Hearn has practiced T'ai Chi Ch'uan since the mid 1970's, studying Wu style form, Sword and Knife forms and Chi Gong with the late Grand Master Sophia Delza, who studied with Grand Master Ma Yueh Liang in Shanghai. Since the death of Sophia Delza in 1996, she has studied Yang style with Grand Master William C. C. Chen, "inside" student of Professor Cheng Man Ch'ing in Taiwan. Professor Cheng Man Ching studied with Yang Cheng-fu in China, and developed the 37-position "short" form, an elegant simplification of the basic Yang style moves. Professor Cheng Man Ch'ing was known as the Master of Five Arts, Chinese medicine, poetry, calligraphy, drawing and T'ai Chi - of these, he said, T'ai Chi was the best.
